Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada works on the development of designs that can significantly reduce the thickness of equipment by using materials with a high elastic limit, following an approach that takes into account the material’s parameters, focusing on fracture mechanics.
The study is conducted to determine the critical dimensions of the cracks in joints or structures subject to known tensions. Some of the advantages of the project include a lower thickness, which optimises both the consumption of the base and welding material, and the machining and inspection operations.
