Duro Felguera participates in PKN Orlen’s Olefins Expansion project with a relevant contract for the design, engineering, supply, prefabrication, transport to the site and assembly of 26 process tanks for the Plock refinery. Duro Felguera Energy Storage, Duro Felguera Energy Storage, a subsidiary specialised in the execution of turnkey storage projects in different types of facilities for the Oil & Gas sector, among others, is in charge of the works.
Duro Felguera and its subsidiaries Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada and Duro Felguera Innovation Hub have joined Innovasturias as members, during the General Assembly of the entity, held on May 10th, where the association welcomed 18 new companies. The event, held at the Niemeyer Centre in Avilés, was attended by Bárbara Pericón, head of Quality, Environment and R&D of Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada, who collected the accreditation diploma.
On Friday 5th May, two propane storage tanks were loaded onto a pontoon for Hellenic Petroleum (HELPE), in Greece. The tanks, manufactured in the workshop of Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada, have an approximate dimension of 50 m in length by 8 m in diameter and a transport weight of 550 t and were transferred on the barge from the dock of the workshop to the port of El Musel to begin their route from there to Greece.
Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada (DFCP) has carried out this week, with a spectacular and complex operation, the shipment from its dock in the port of Gijón of two 6,000 m3 Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) cargo tanks, which will be sent to the German engineering company TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH for a bunkering vessel.
Last week, Duro Felguera shipped a washing tower from the port of El Musel to the Plock refinery (Poland), which has been manufactured at the company’s Heavy Boilermaking facilities in Gijón. The washing tower, made of plated steel, is almost 100 metres long, with a diameter of over 6 metres and a weight of almost 800 tonnes.
The project is progressing for an industrial customer in Northern Europe where the main equipment has been shipped (in the photos, dispatch operations from Duro Felguera Calderería Pesada), the construction engineering is being completed and more than 150 people from our company are already on site.
