For this reason, the company has for many years been incorporating environmental considerations into its strategic management, reviewing its activities and processes to ensure they remain in line with the commitments it has made.
This ongoing review ensures that Duro Felguera not only complies with the applicable environmental requirements, but also identifies opportunities to achieve higher levels of environmental performance, linking these to the company’s sustainable business approach.
Since 2012, the company has been certifying its business lines under a corporate Environmental Management System compliant with the ISO 14001 standard, accredited by Lloyd’s Register. Furthermore, our workshops have specific management systems tailored to each activity and have held their own certification for over 10 years.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have begun the process of obtaining certification to the ISO 50001 energy efficiency standard, which further strengthens our strategy to optimise energy consumption and reduce our environmental footprint.
Duro Felguera’s annual programme of environmental objectives and targets is intended to serve as a roadmap for monitoring the company’s progress towards continuous improvement in environmental protection. The aim is simply to implement a system of environmental indicators applicable across the entire company and to promote the sustainable use of resources through the systematic monitoring of their consumption.
